Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Need some help from you guys out there.  I am trying to set the 
voices to my hi-hat.  I want to try and get that "shoop" sound which 
is produced from a slightly open pedal on the HH and hitting the 
edge of the HH with the stick....having a heck of a time...can 
anyone offer me some settings that I can try?  I have 2 voices on 
each of my pads.  Also...on the dual zone cymbal pad....HOW do I 
edit the voices to get one sound for the RIM and one sound for the 
interior body of the cymbal....I can't seem to get the trigger 
module to register the "Rim" setting when I strike this area of my 
cymbal pad....what am I doing wrong?

On the hihat question, Try adjusting the 'decay' parameter. You need a 
longer decay than the stock closed sound. 
As for the other question, if you indeed are using a "dual zone" pad, 
you will need to use the 9/10 input. If, however, you are using a 
"stereo" pad PCY 80S, etc. Whwn in voice mode, strike the rim, and 
make sure it says 'Rim' in the display. Then set the sound you want.
Make sure you are using a stereo cable.
