Hi JM,

First, yes the Xtreme will handle stereo pads just
fine.  I suspect that it will not do the 3 zone pads,
but I could be wrong.  

If I remember the Xtreme, you have to go into the
trigger settings for the pad, and page forward to
where you assign the MIDI note numbers for the
different layers.  If you scroll forward on the layer
number parameter, I believe you get an option to
assign a note number fot the rim. Assign a number that
is not already used, then go into the Voice settings
and assign a sound to that note number. 

All of this is from memory, so my apologies if I've
mucked it up. Walt
