Added the dtxtreme trigger module to my dtxpressII pad set. Should I be able to get a rimshot sound out of the TP65S pad when using that module? If so, does any one know how to set it up to do so? Thanks! JM

Hi JM, I don't own the DTXTU module, but since the two cymbals that come with the DTXtreme package are PCY80S, and the high hat is the TP80S, it seems a good bet that you can get a rimshot sound out of the TP65S, since it's the same technology. Do inputs 1-8 have a "rim" setup option? For example, if you put your snare in input 2, can you hit the rim and get a setup screen in the voice menu for rim 2? If so, you can use it to program a rimshot. If Walt sees your question, he'll probably have the definitive answer; he owns the module, too. Hi JM, First, yes the Xtreme will handle stereo pads just fine. I suspect that it will not do the 3 zone pads, but I could be wrong. If I remember the Xtreme, you have to go into the trigger settings for the pad, and page forward to where you assign the MIDI note numbers for the different layers. If you scroll forward on the layer number parameter, I believe you get an option to assign a note number fot the rim. Assign a number that is not already used, then go into the Voice settings and assign a sound to that note number. All of this is from memory, so my apologies if I've mucked it up. Thanks Walt! I think I can get it from there, even if it is not right on the money. At least you have given me what sounds like a reasonable approach. Regards... Jim ----- Original Message -----
