Well the answer is, nearly.... You will not be able to split the toms with stereo splitters. If you really need to add an extra tom, you'll need to use one of the dual channel ports (9/10). The PCY10 bell trigger is best run from port 9, so much so that the default kits already have a sound matched for it. You get a cowbell sound defaulted to port 10, which is bloody annoying. I use this as my extra tom input, and edit a tom sound to fit, then save it as one of my user kits. If you still need extra triggers, you will need to get a trigger-to-MIDI converter. Again I use a Roland Octapad, as well as having it's own 8 triggers, it has additional trigger inputs (6 I think), and the Yamaha pads work fine from them. Hope this helps. the Sonic Energy Authority - a sound investment ----- Original Message ----- From: clerkdanteca <clerkdanteca@...> To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2003 5:46 PM Subject: [DTXpress] Can I do this? Add-on Question I have been doing my research, and I have decided that the DTXPress II is the kit for me. I will be purchasing it in the next couple of weeks when my work bonus comes through. My question is this.......I want to add a few additional triggers to what is already included with the set. The triggers I would like to add are: TP80 Single Zone Pad for a 4th Tom PCY10 Cymbal Bell Pad for ride type sounds or additional crash BP80 Dual Trigger Bar Pad for additional percussion type things. Is it possible to add these with the ports that exist? I looks like I would have to double up the toms with stereo splitters, ad the cymbal bell pad to the now open tom spot and then connect the Bar to 9/10. Is this right? Am I way off? HELP! Yahoo!
