Just to round out the picture, you can also add inputs with Roland's
discontinued PM-16 (16 inputs) and Kat's discontinued midiKITI (9
inputs)--neither of which has pads or voices of its own, only
trigger parameters. Both can be found for $100 or less these days on
ebay, classifieds, etc. Roland also has the current TMC-6, which is
geared to the company's latest technology, and Kat (or Alternate
Mode) has a number of wonderful but fairly expensive options for
adding pads and triggers. Drumbalaya recently became a Kat dealer.
