I have a D4 that I use on my electronic kit. As has been stated previously, it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of newer modules. You can download the user's manual in PDF format from Alesis.com under Support. That should give you an idea of the module's capabilities. The D4 can only work with 20 pre-defined kits -- in practice I have found about 4 of them are worth using -- the rest are just too weird for the stuff I play. It has a bunch of pre-recorded sounds and you can alter the pre-defined kits, but a lot of the sounds really aren't that great. My BIGGEST complaint is the lack of backlit display -- you need a flashlight in dim lighting to see the screen to change kits. If you can get a D4 for $100 or less -- get it. It will make a good back-up or you can use it with your acoustic kit to help fatten up your drum sounds. Don't make it your primary module -- it is a solid reliable performer, but is lacking in a variety of sounds and settings that you will find on other modules. --- "Brett <baaron_123@...>" <baaron_123@...> wrote: > Anyone know of, or had any experience with, the > Alesis D4?
