Hi UNH, While working with Steve I discovered that the way the xpress seems to use the drum map does not allow anything but edits done via the voice menu (in other words, only voice edits made to the locally attached pads) to be saved. It seems to only load those into the drum map when you change kits. Other modules (like the DTX V2, allow edits to all of the MIDI notes via the voice menu, and save all of those edits, making it possible to switch the voices for the pads on the PM-16 by changing to different kits on the V2 module. When you change kits in it, it loads that whole drum map into memory, instead of just parts of it as the xpress does. What I can't figure out (since I don't have a PM-16 manual, and can't find one on the web, is what facility the PM-16 has for saving preset kit definitions, and how it works. I see mentions of it having the ability to set up presets, but not how to do it.
