Hi Scott, Yes, I did have a PM-16 MIDIed into my DTX V2 module, and it worked fine there. I also tested it in my DTXpress I, and it worked fine there too. One thing you need to consider, however, is that the xpress does not save the notes other than what it uses for kits (i.e. Pad1, Pad1rim, Pad2, etc.) in the user drum kits. Any other note assigments it keeps in the User Drum Map (and there is only 1 per xpress), which means that any sounds that you assign via MIDI notes are the same through all of the user kits. Does that make sense? The DTX V2 does it a little differently, keeping track of all of the MIDI notes within each user kit, it is like each kit has its own drum map, if you get what I'm driving at here. This means that any MIDI device you want to use needs to have the ability to store it's own various settings, and you have to manage the MIDI note numbers real closely to avoid stepping on ones already used. As for the posts of late, they are only problems with xpress II models, the originals work just fine. If you do get one and need a hand getting it going, just let us know - we can almost do it in our sleep at this point!
