Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I have a few questions concerning taking a relatively "beginner band" out of the basement and in front of an audience.  The band pop-rock, all originals looking to start playing out.  I'm really curious to hear the perspectives for  this board. Thanks.

1.  How long is a typical set?  Both in number of songs and length of time
2.  How many sets are played in a typical "night at a bar"?
3.  How long are your breaks between sets?
4.  How many breaks during a gig?
5.  Typically is a band responsible for their own PA?
6.  What is a "going rate" for live bands now days?
7.  What is your best piece of advice for a beginning band?

I understand these questions are very general and answers will every, but that's what I'm looking for.
