I've looked at the video and read the words, and I have a feeling this is either the same as (or closely related to) the Moeller technique (or "two for one" as Dave Weckl calls it). This is where you get multiple (triplets or even sixteenths) on a single "wrist" stroke. There's a couple of good videos of Jim Chapin doing this on Dom Famularo's "cyberlesson" site on VicFirth.com here: http://www.vicfirth.com/education/drumset/domfamularo.html Given that the technique doesn't rely on rebound, it should make no difference as to how well this works on real heads, mesh, or gum rubber. -- S
