Hi Lee, You can use anything that appeals to you as a hi hat (if you were in the US, I'd suggest a close look at the Visu-lite hh cymbals and controller, which mount on a traditional hh stand and have just become available in a Yamaha-compatible version). You'll just have to get a mount for your new cymbal. On Koby's dual-zone mesh-head snare, the usual method, as Koby recommends, is to connect the skin to input 2 and the rim to either 9 or 10, leaving the other mono input open for another pad. Theoretically, you could connect the skin to 9 and the rim to 10 (or use any other two inputs for that matter, if you didn't mind subverting their "stereo" capabilities), but splitting to 2 and 10 allows you to retain your snare if you should use one of the preset kits. Please post your impressions of your Koby triggers; we've never had any word about them.
