Stephen, Yes, you can come back. You hate the DM5 as a second unit, huh? Well, I guess if you wanted it to pull equal weight alongside the DTXPU, I can understand it. I'd use it the way I use the midikiti-- to house percussion sounds that have a permanent, though secondary, use in all of my kits--not to take up all the cymbals or all the pads, first because it's all mono and second because it isn't as versatile to program. Can't you use it as a midi device parasitically through to the DTXPU? That is, with midi out bypassing its own sounds, can it tap into the sounds of the DTX via channel and note number? This is an honest question; I simply don't know if the DM5 will work that way. Maybe someone else does.
