Hi and welcome. Some answers for you: For a good back info, this groups Yahoo Groups page has a good searchable index. For more info, you can try this: http://www.dtxpressions.com (Of course I recommend this site sine I host it!:) There are quite a few posts about the hi-hat snare rejection in the archive, but suffice to say the idea behind the rejection is to make it so that the vibration of your stick hitting the snare pad doesn't inadvertently trigger the hat pad. This is what is referred to as "cross-talk". Also, the amount of time the "rejected" pad is muted is VERY small (usually hundredths of a second). In most cases, humans are not accurate enough to hit two pads at PRECISELY the same time. So, by muting the pad(s) *near* to the pad you are striking for a very small period you allow the vibration to attenuate to a level beneath the threshold of these adjacent triggers thereby avoiding a false trigger. This make sense? :) As for support, this is probably the best place to be. Lots of helpful people and the list is very active with lots of posts, lots of friendly people and lots of good ideas. If this list can't figure it out, I don't think anyone can! :D Vern -- Vern Graner CNE/CNA/SSE | "If the network is down, then you're Senior Systems Engineer | obviously incompetent so why are we Texas Information Services | paying you?
