Hi Daniel, A PM-16 is a triggee to midi interface device. Think of it as being 1/2 of a module - it converts pad hits to a midi note number, then sends that note number to another midi device to convert into sounds. Inside the Yamaha modules a very similar thing happens between the trigger and voice sections of the module. It is one way to expand the available inputs, adding a second module is another way. Both have their pros and cons - I had a pm-16 for my kit but now use 2 modules instead. I am not familiar with it, but for what I gather is a cheaper way to get more pads installed. I am correct to think that I could add, say.. 6 or 8 more pads to the kit? Is the PM-16 a drum pad like the ddpad DD-55? I am asking because I have like 6 more pads sitting around waiting for another drum module that I would love to put to good use at a sensitive $$... > > Thanks > > Daniel Rodriguez > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: underneathheaven > To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2003 5:15 PM > Subject: [DTXpress] Re: pm-16 > > > Hey Scott, got yourself a PM-16 eh?
