Re: pm-16

2003-04-03 by Walt

Hi Daniel,

It has 16 inputs, and you are right - it is connected via a midi
cable to the Yamaha module. There are some limitations that you need
to be aware of though, like the fact that within the DTXpress you can
not assign sounds in user kit definitions for the pads connected via
a PM-16 - the sounds for those pads will be the same in all of the
user kits. In other words, if you assign a cowbell sound for the pad
connected to input 1 on the PM-16, it will be a cowbell sound in all
of the user xpress kits. This is not a limitation of the PM-16 per
se, but is one of the environment. This is one reason why some folks
prefer a second module instead of a pad to midi interface.

There are others in the group that can provide more opinions on this
too - come on, speak up!

module right? I take it through the Midi interface, right? I know I
am a bundle of questions.. The thing is that I have seen a few PM-16
for sale in Ebay and got me thinking.. :) Hey, anything to get the
brain cells I got left to fire up..
