The problem with cheap is that its...ah, cheap, and cheap is relative. What you don't want to sacrifice are enough high frequency response to make the cymbals sound real, and different, and enough low frequency response to do justice to the toms and kick. The DTX sounds really good well amplified (which doesn't necessarily mean deafness-inducing loud; the louder/softer an amp can play and still sound good, the better it is). Run a search of the archives under "amplifier" or "amplification" to get other members' ideas and find your price range. A keyboard amp is often the way to go, if you're not buying a dedicated system from Roland, JBL, Mackie, etc. If what attracts you seems too expensive, take a look at ebay.
