Of course, you could check for a local Rock-n-Roll Rental company and try out different power levels and brands b4 making a cash commitment. In many cases the size of the amp you feel produces a reasonable sound will be proportional to the size of the room and the volume of the other musicians gear. If you're gunna play a 500 seat room with a guy with a Fender 4X12 cabinet, you'll need a 75w RMS amp for headphones! :D Another thing to remember is that sound volume is double when power is SQUARED! So, in order to be twice as loud as a 10 watt amp, you need a 100 watt amp! Many people think "well, I have a 50 watt amp, so 100 watts should be twice as loud". Not so. To double the volume of 100 watts? Gotta go to 1000 watts (1 Kilo-watt!) So, you might want to give us a better idea of what the target is. I know I bought my set with the idea to perform with headphones and MIDI recording. I do have a Carvin 400 watt amp and a pair of Peavy 12" Mid size cabinets I can use if I want people to actually hear me, but I don't envision the set ever leaving my practice room. I don't get out much anymore... :( Vern -- Vern Graner CNE/CNA/SSE | "If the network is down, then you're Senior Systems Engineer | obviously incompetent so why are we Texas Information Services | paying you?
