Re: [DTXpress] received dtxpress. please help

2003-04-09 by James Topping

Hello lee,
I have also just bought a dtxpress kit. I did play
years ago, and always wanted to get back into it. One
of the first things I bought was the buddy rich snare
drum rudiments book, which I had when I originally
started playing. This is very good for showing you how
to read music, stick gripping and all the rudiments.
As for playing on the kit, it may be worth playing
along with fairly simple beats like acdc to start off
with, and make sure you use the groove check facility.
I thought I was bang on time until I played with the
groove check (what an eye opener). It is an excellent
function. I also use it with rudiments, my paradiddles
and double stroke playing were wildly out of time, but
this really focuses your mind.

Have fun,

Daz
