RE: [DTXpress] Snare/Rim Shot/Cross Stick Problem

2003-04-10 by rdamon@mckinney-usa.com

Just from memory, you can set the voice number in the range of 0-127
(depending on which voice catagory you are selecting from). If you set a
voice for a specific trigger input to "0" , it will mute that trigger. So
you could have a voice assigned for the main pad and the rim1 switch and
then set rim2 to "0" on say User Kit 50 and set rim2 to a cross-stick voice
on User Kit 51. That would mute the cross-stick (rim2) on User Kit 50 but
not User Kit 51. Although, I have two snare pads and I have not had this
problem with either. I am not sure if this helps solves your problem though.

(P.S. I confess, I cheat on the cross-stick, since the TP65S is a such a
small pad, I directly hit the second rim, rather than using the traditional
method of laying the stick across the pad. I also have kits that assign one
cymbal type to the bow, say a sizzle and assigns a crash to the edge. That
gives me two cymbals for the price of one, but this means you have to be
very precise when you strike the pad to get the intended voice. To vary the
sound even more on selected cymbals, I then enable the "edge to pad" setting
so that they both trigger the edge and main pad when striking just the edge.
I had even initially set up my second TP65S as multiple cymbal types but
then just changed it to a piccolo snare to supplement the main snare pad.
This stuff is just way too much fun, love it, love it, love it!!!!!!)
