Here's a solution that has made it's way around the list a few times: http://www.dtxpressions.com/platform/platform.htm If you build this, you should end up with a more stable platform than some of the other ideas I've seen. Also, try playing with the very lightest "jazz" sticks you can find, and also try turning up the gains on your pads so you don't have to hit too hard. High-headphone volume can help with this too since low headphone volume can lead to hitting harder. Zildjan has recently created some drumsticks that are supposed to work better for electronic drums but I haven't seen a review of them yet. Also, it can't be emphasized enough that you will get more cooperation if you work with your neighbors. Meet them, ask them when the best time to play is or offer a mutually agreed upon "cut-off" time for drumming. If they have a big surround-sound stereo you could be on the other end of this argument at some point, so mind your manners and "drum unto others..." :D Vern -- Vern Graner CNE/CNA/SSE | "If the network is down, then you're Senior Systems Engineer | obviously incompetent so why are we Texas Information Services | paying you?
