You're right about Channel 10, it's usually reserved for the soundcard ROM drums - although if you use SoundFont kits, you can use any channel. The most important thing to do next is to get the MIDI line analyzer set up. I've put one in the Files section in Utilities. This will show you exactly what's coming into the sequencer from the DTXpress. Set the input of the analyzer to MIDI In and the output to your MIDI Output port or the Mapper (so you can hear it) If you hit a pad, you'll see Note On - Velocity - Pitch and Note Off messages. If you change the kit on the brain, you'll see Program Change messages. Now go through the steps it takes to recreate your Piano problem. What do you see on the monitor? Either the DTXpress will be kicking out something it shouldn't or Cakewalk is mapping channel 10 incorrectly. Either way, if we find out what - we can fix it. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo! Mail - Free email you can access from anywhere! http://mail.yahoo.com/
