The middle daughter is a fine singer and pianist and was recently rewarded for a performance of Britten's Abraham and Isaac with music shop coupons. She returned with a book of Sinatra classics. When she was about 10, I once came down to find her at the computer doing some school work, with headphones on. Turned out she was listening to Coltrane. And now we perform Vanessa Carlton stuff together (number 1 daughter plays bass too). (Drags thread back vaguely on topic) ... saw Nate Morton playing with VC in London recently. Never seen him before, but he was *excellent* - fantastic work rate, great showman, but with that difficult to pin down quality of apparently having plenty of time to spare. Last but not least, he looked like he was having a great time. Er. And he occasionally uses trigger pads. There, on topic! Stewart
