Mike, I had the exact opposite problem - mine would miss trigger every so often - had that problem with 2 of them before finally giving up. The local drum store that I bought the kit from gave me credit for the second defective one, and I bought a S&S Stealth pad for the difference. Never regretted that decision. I love it! IMHO, the kick pad that comes with the DTXpress is the one weak link. Good luck!
