Ok, so last night I was rehearsing w/some friends and looking at the right side of my kit and thinking... wouldn't it be neat if there was a way to cause the sound assignment on the ride to change with the position of the hat pedal? Think of it this way, if I'm doing a fill and I release the hat pedal, that pad is a *crash*, if I hold down the hat pedal, it's a ride.... By the time we were done rehearsing, it was late, so I just crashed and didn't investigate the idea.. This morning, I started thinking about it again.
