Vern, how do you have your ride cymbal set up now?  I have mine set 
up like oldguy's because I usually play rock and don't need an edge 
of the ride cymbal sound for anything.  I actually made the decay 
longer on my ride cymbal crash sound than my other crash cymbals 
too, I like it.
