I've got the first DTXpress model, and essentially it's not much different from Mk2. I use it at gigs and it folds up fairly neatly and fits with room to spare in my hatchback. You can always take it to pieces and pack it away more compactly, but it pays to color-code your cables to make it easier to put it together again. I usually wrap it in some blankets so it doesn't get knocked around in transit. And I don't regard it as a practice toy. Because the DTXpress plays through a PA, you can control the sound a lot better than an acoustic kit, particularly in a venue with poor acoustics. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "Toolfist23" <toolfist23@y...> wrote: > hey all > > im thinking about getting the DS9XPSII DTXPRESS. 2 concerns: > > a) does it break down and move around easily? can this thing take a > beating and go on the road or is it a fragile kit that needs to stay > in one place? > > b) i've been playing 15 years; is this something that a pro can get a > lot of use out of? or is more of a tinker-toy for the home/studio? > > any comments would be greatly appreciated. > > shane
