Spence: My set is in an upstairs room and I also had the problem of sound coupling to the other downstairs room. I contact a friend of mine who has worked as an engineer for IBM and he came up with an isolation platform design. His step by step instructions are here: http://www.dtxpressions.com/platform/platform.htm As for the 3am playing, I've found that if I play with the lightest sticks and then crank the headphone volume way up, I don't have to hit the pads so hard so I don't create as much vibration/noise.
