Re: Free-stand a bell pad?

2003-06-28 by k3276a12

i have added two cups to my kit--one on the ride with the standard
mounting hardware and one on a splash arm--and i don't have any
problems with false triggering--or if i do it's not noticeable
because i try to find a bell sound that fits with the edge sound so,
if i get a small amount of both, that's ok. the splash arm is a good
idea for a splash but i see that you actually want it to be a bell.
did you use all of the standard hardware that comes with the unit? i
only ask because i bought my splash at music-go-round for $5 with no
hardware. the bell hardware replaces the standard neck with a longer
one which allows you to get that gigantic felt in between them. i
think that helps alot. The main thing is to experiment with trigger
settings--in this case the special rejection is key. Mine are

ride: self rejection 4, rejection 2, minVelocity 27, special
rejection (from bell) 7

bell: self rejection 2, rejection 2, minVelocity 10, special
rejection (from ride) 6.

hope that helps.
