Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi all,
First off, it's great to see the dialog on this board. It's 
definitely outgrown me in terms of technical complexity but I've 
set a goal to try to catch up. I'm still just banging around on the same
three kits (with some tweaks) that I started with and having fun. Not
enough time in the day...  
Giles, a web site? Looking forward to seeing this. 

1) I think I alluded to this in a previous message but I could do
with a basic MIDI primer and it sounds like others could as well.
MIDI 101, if you will. What do I need to do to connect my DTXpress
to my computer and what softwear makes it go? I'd love to pull the
kits that you guys have posted here and mess with them as well as
play along with songs from websites or other sources. Sorry for being
so basic but I honestly don't know where to start, and I hate to just 
let technology sit there unused. Maybe a section in the website, if not
here?

2) Chris, any idea why some of our messages are not wrapping? They just seem to go endlessly on to the right... Am I doing something wrong?

Very intrigued by this crossfade turning the ride cymbal into a dual zone 
pad. I'm playing right on the Yamaha logo as my ride anyway...hmmm. Gonna
try that.
