The biggest improvement I made to my kit was firmly mounting the kick pedal
and tower to a piece of masonite. Set it and forget it. Far less noise. No
rocking, no strike angle change when you tighten the clamp, and no creeping
thanks to hook-side-down Velcro strips on the underside. I designed it to
come apart quickly for transport (though it travels well together) or if
there's a kick hardware failure.
