Re: The DTXpress Electronic Drums Group Needs You

2003-08-08 by oldguydrummer

Ronald,

The posts that you had mentioned were before my time, so I went back
and read through the posts.

Did you ever find a solution to the problem?

I recently started going back through the posts from this group
starting with post # 1. and MIDI seems to be one of the consist
problems/issues that is discussed and second is compatability with
other manufacturers equipment. I personally would not have known the
answer to your problem and do not have the equipment in order to
duplicate your problem. All of my recording is audio out to a mixer
and then to a digital recorder (Korg D1200CD). I don't do anything
with MIDI. I tried digging into but it just seem that the DTXpressII
module was going to be to frustrating to work through at least until
more people bought it and started using it. I just figured that I
would be in for a world of frustration.

Considering the DTxpressII was only about eight months old when you
ask the question and that most of the people probably don't have the
dtxpressii but another or earlier variant of it, I was amazed anybody
was able to jump in and tried to help. From the posts when this group
was formed and with the inception of the dtxpressI, it seem many
questions went unanswered, just because nobody had figured it out yet.

I know this is doubling of post on this issue, but the point I am
trying to make to everyone is, there are wide variety of people here,
some full time musicians, some part time ones and some that just put
on the headphones and pretend to be one when they are home alone. The
only real experts on the Yamaha equipment are the folks sitting
behind a desk or lab table in Japan and they don't ever stop by and
visit. If they do, we will probably never know. So if you ask a
question and don't get an answer or don't get an answer that helps
you out, then thats the time to go to the Yamaha support team. The
whole purpose of sending out the "special notice" was to see if we
had enough members to get Yamaha's attention and get someone from
there tech. support to consider us significant and important enough
to have a permanent presences here. Then most if not all of the
questions about the dtx equipment could get answered by the real
experts.
