Hi, guys. I definitely want to stay a semi-active member of the DTXpress Yahoo group. Your help, and the help of others, via the site has been invaluable in my getting full use of my DTXpress kit. (I don't know what I would have done without you guys!) By semi-active I mean that I log in perhaps twice or three times a week and check out the messages and responses. I'm particularly interested in problems that relatively new owners, such as myself, come up against. And I always chip in when I have something to ask or contribute. Where it comes to archives, yes I do consult them when I need to refer back to something. (But I wish there was some kind of index to the topics covered - going back through each and every message is extremely time consuming!) I am not aware of "files" or "links" on the site, so I'd be happy to know more about them. But yes, I occasionally check out the photo section to see how other drummers arrange their kits and add-ons. Finally, I really do appreciate the effort you have put to finding a solution to the spam/advertising issue. Long live the group! If you might like to add information about your level of interest, please read the fine print. As you may or may not have noticed, the group recently acquired three new moderators after a long period without anyone to police or maintain the various resources associated with the site. As a result, we are now able to keep the engine running smoothly without any, or much, intrusion from such extraneous distractions as spam and advertising. We have yet to decide the final method of securing emails and web postings from these undesirable influences, but we are looking forward to finishing this business so that we can concentrate exclusively on our common interests. One important piece of information that has been sorely lacking is the number of listed members, among the current 730 or so, who still maintain interest in the group's messages and archives, even though they may not participate anymore, or never have participated at all (the group's silent majority). This information might help us in our future endeavors (such as relations with Yamaha or other companies with which we might establish a connection to our mutual benefit) and in our attempt to ensure that individuals can get as much benefit from their membership as possible. Would those of you who would classify yourselves as part of the silent majority (you know who you are, even if we don't) kindly reply to this email with some statement of how you use your membership: How often do you read the group emails? Do you consult the archives, files, links, and photo sections to get answers to questions about your e-drums? Collectively, you could play a large role in how we ultimately structure this group and how we envision its future. You represent our strength in numbers. Thanks, Rob, Vern, and Ed Yahoo!
