The original IC chip in the dtxpressII:

The upgraded IC chip in the dtxpressII:

Part no. x3023200

No other markings on the chip.


The chip is a 42 pin.


Has anyone with the original dtxpressI opened it up to compare the 
internal arrangement to the photos in the photo gallery for the 
dtxpressII?
I will send an email to Yamaha support asking the question of 
compatibility, but I think we all know what the answer is going to be.

If it were just a matter of replacing this chip to get the 3-zone 
cabability, then I would not have a problem with sending my original 
chips to a fellow member.

Gee, if everybody here that has the dtxpressII, were to send off for 
the upgrade chip, then take the original IC chip and send it to a 
fellow member that has the dtxpressI module???? 
What a concept, everybody wins.
