I assume you'll be running a single line out into the PA mixer. If so, the EQ mix on the board will have to stay pretty flat to give you the highs of the cymbals and the lows of the bass. If it's not too much trouble and you have another channel on the board available, you might consider panning all your cymbals and snare to the left and the bass and toms to the right. That way, you can run two lines to the PA and mix accordingly. Also, if you don't have the luxury of an amp or monitor, definitely use a set of headphones or earplugs (although this can be a bit confusing if you run two channels (bass and toms in right ear, snare and cymbals in left). Also make sure you have a 'friend' in the audience to let you know how the mix sounds. Too often, the bandmember responsible for the main mix doesn't give the drums the emphasis they need. Stephen
