The biggest bank for the buck is to get an amp stand and put the amp behind you. I use a Roland KC-500 amp and the difference between having the amp on the floor and up off the ground is amazing. You hear everthing, every nuance, every bounce of the stick. The kick drum sound seems to be pushing through your torso. Try it. Claudio Ortiz
