Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi all,
           I've not long joined your group but I'm learning a lot already,
Just a couple of questions, I,ve downloaded the DTXpressions midi program and using
midi leads I have managed to upload to the computer my drum kit set ups, but I get a MIDI FRAMING ERROR when I try to download the kits from the expressions program to my DTX 2 drumkit, any thoughts,
Also when assigning padsongs to seperate pads, is there any way of controlling the song volume? Thanks
