Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

My take (which may be wrong) is that Yamaha  introduce the DtxpressI in June
1999 at a lower cost than the DTXtreme without any major sacrifices in
function and characteristics. That in 2002 they repeated their success, by
introducing the DtxpressII, that contained the 3zone pads which help them
secure market share in the edrum world. And thus with the whole line of the
DTX's (including the xtreme/xpress) it represents 55 percent of their total
drum kits sold which is 38,000 units up through Sept of 2003.
