There is a difference between stereo and dual-zone. The AX14S is
dual-zone, and has two triggers, one for the rim and one for the 
head. The Yamaha input, and the TP80S, are stereo - they have one 
trigger, and one membrane switch on the rim. The switch just 
modifies the action of the trigger, it does not generate a trigger 
signal on its own. Your AX14S therefore requires two inputs to work.
