Stephen, The raised edge is what I always considered the disadvantage of using a stereo cymbal for a hi hat, though, as you say, you can get around it. I remember having this discussion with Otacon28 (Sam) at least a year and a half ago when the Zenbals first came out. For a hi hat, I prefer either a single zone or a dual-zone w/bell. Ed
