Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hello,

 

Ed from Drumbalaya said that AX-14S comes with a stereo cable, which I
can plug it into #9/#10.

Why can't I plug it into #2?  Probably due to the switch issue, right??

 

How do you connect the AX-14S to #2 and #9?  I guess you need two
different "Y" adaptor.

Detailed explanation would be nice.

As a recent personal convert to edrumming, I'd definitely recommend 
you go with option #B otherwise you will constantly have to "revoice" 
both the head and the rim when you switch drum kits on the module.  
By spliting between #2 (head) and #9(rim) you only have to revoice 
the rim when you switch..... and in a pinch you can either avoid rim 
shots or pull out the #9 cable if you don't have time to reset fully 
during a performance. The other option of course is to set up a few 
user drum kits with all the proper settings and wail away.

I have both the AX-14S and CK-V on my DTXP2 and they work beautifully 
with some patient tweaking. I have a PCY10 running into #10 because 
bell sounds are an important part of my drumming. 

I've also discovered that the AX-14S doesn't run as hot in the center 
as the CC120 which is an added blessing. You will find, though, that 
with these 2 zone Pintechs (others anyone?) and the DTXP2 you'll have 
to work hard at setting the rim/head rejection and crosstalk 
parameters for the snare. I've got mine pretty well separated and if 
you have trouble let me know and I'll send you off my settings to see 
if they work for you.
