Re: Upgrading DTXpress with AX-14S and CK-V

2003-11-05 by docdrum_s

Hi Jeffrey,

I don't remember what cable came with the AX14S but I bet it was a
stereo cable which will only "work" in 9/10 to get you both zones.

What you need is two separate cables to set yourself up:

1. You need a HOSA YPP-117 to split 9/10 into two 1/4" mono females
which you can see here

http://www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=34032

and

2. 1/4" insert cable (such as HOSA STP 202) to split the AX14S into
two mono males which you can see here

http://www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=24977

You should ask Ed at Drumbalaya to sell these to you (although I only
saw the YPP 117 on the site) or you can get them from directproaudio
or anywhere else you can find them.

Also, mounting on a stand is the way to go and I was really
specifically talking about the settings for the snare head/rim that
will require some "extra" tweaks..

Hope this helps....

Rich
