Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Not sure if this has ever been discussed. A search of the archives 
didn't yield anything.

Some metronomes have a tap feature built into them; usually a pad or 
button which you "tap". You tap along to a song and the metronome 
tells you the bpm (beats per minute) of your tap. Handy for both 
cover tunes and original compositions.

I've searched both of the DTXpress II manuals, tried a number of 
searches of the archives (using variations of the words in this 
posts subject heading), and sat and stared at my module willing it 
to 'just do it' - "Use the force Luke" -  No luck.

It seems that all of the physical pieces are in place to make this 
possible, but the programming itself may not be present in the 
module. If it isn't, it should be (for any Yamaha tech's who may be 
lurking). :-)

Does anyone in the group know if this is possible?
