I'm assuming you have the early, all-mono DTXpress kit. If so, carry 
on exactly as you have above, with the addition that you should take 
the rim of the snare to the other half of 9/10.

You will need two stereo/mono splitters - search on "HOSA" in the 
archive for model numbers and links - and two extra mono cables. One 
splitter you will use to split the head and rim off the Pintech snare 
into two mono cables. The mono cable for the head will go to input #2 
as you say. The other splitter goes into input #9/10, and you will 
plug the other mono (rim) lead from the snare into one side of that, 
and your crash into the other side.

Once you've done that, remember to set up the pad types for each of 
the inputs you have changed.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
