It has a dual-zone output - a stereo cable, but two piezo signals
rather than a piezo and a switch. You can't put those on a single
stereo input on the DTXpress; you need two inputs - one for the
head, and one for the rim.

Ok thanks for the info,
So how will i make this work if I wish to add

***new***
1) PINTECH Dual Zone Concertcast Snare Pad (Input#2 SNARE and where
else?)
***and use my old***
2) TP60 as a ride (Input#6 Ride)
3) Two crashes on (Input#7 and Input#"9/10")

What can you guys recommend that i do? Please be specific on what
inputs i should use and what kinda wires i will need. Im assuming
that I will need a Y-split stereo wires for the 2inputs on the Dual
zone.

Thank you.
Mike

I'm assuming you have the early, all-mono DTXpress kit. If so, carry
on exactly as you have above, with the addition that you should take
the rim of the snare to the other half of 9/10.

You will need two stereo/mono splitters - search on "HOSA" in the
archive for model numbers and links - and two extra mono cables. One
splitter you will use to split the head and rim off the Pintech snare
into two mono cables. The mono cable for the head will go to input #2
as you say. The other splitter goes into input #9/10, and you will
plug the other mono (rim) lead from the snare into one side of that,
and your crash into the other side.

Once you've done that, remember to set up the pad types for each of
the inputs you have changed.

Ok now i gettit,
One last question, once I have everything all physically set up and
Ive set up the pad types, then do i have to do some "tweaking" with
the module? Ive been reading about the ConcertCast pads on this
forum and it seems that some users are experience "Hotspots" which i
am not really sure what they are. Basically, what im askin is, will
the pad AUTOMATICALLY work properly once it is connected and the pad
types are assigned?

Regards,
Mike

You may do, but the good news is there's a ton of experience with
Pintech pads and Yamaha modules hereabouts so don't fret it.

As for "hotspots" - some pads have areas right near the piezo where
they trigger at or near maximum, with the rest of the pad more
graded. There are various physical strategies the manufacturers use
to mitigate this (like foam cones between the pizeo and the head, or
with Yamaha's gum pads a sort of "distribution" layer. However, as
you say, Pintech does have this problem. I certainly get it with my
SE-102 (rubber) pad. You learn to live with it - or in my case, use
it to advantage.
