HH60 as a Kick pedal

HH60 as a Kick pedal

2003-12-16 by temon_@hotmail.com

Hi, friends

I've got a problem, the kick pedal makes too much "noise" to my
neighbour. I mean that the continuous hits on the floor disturbs him.
I had thought that another hh60 hihat pedal could solve the problem
acting like a drum pedal, but it doesn't work very good. You hit one
time and the bass sounds twice and things like that. I need to
configure it or I'll have to sell the kit. Anybody got it like that?

Thanks

Ah, the world of apartment drumming. Alot of us have
that problem. Fortunately, solutions are around,
depending on the route you want take. A few
suggestions right of the top of my head are making a
compromise with your neighbor in a freindly way, or
even go as far as to make a drum riser such as this
one:

I haven't made one yet, but its next on the list of
things to do, and seems very promising...

That's all that i have to offer, but others may have
other suggestions. Let us know how it goes.

I'm not sure about configuring the hh60 but you may want to build a
sound dampening platform. There are instructions on how to do it on
the DTXpressions website (www.dtxpressions.com/platform).

Good Luck!
