They are meant to keep the heavy jack off the body of cymbal and thus not interfere with triggering so much. Enjoy the cymbal. I use Visu- lites with everything, including a ddrum module, for which they were not specifically designed (Tom started working on a dedicated ddrum design but never followed through). Ed
