Better reply late than never, I suppose. So here is my response. (I am owner of the DTXpressI so the following kits may not be the same as on your DTXpressII.) I started off with Kit #2 NewBeat, because I like the sharp snare sound of that kit, but I like my toms to sound more melodic so I used those saved on Kit #9 Ballade. I liked the sound of the kick pedal but wanted more bass thump, so I assigned K:2 2HedMed2 to Voice 2 to beef it up.
