I discovered this when I first got my  dtxpress II set, so I sent an 
email to Yamaha tech. support. When they confirmed that the II 
module no longer had choking on all inputs, they graciously, burned 
some new ROM Chips for my modules, so that I now have choking on all 
inputs. With just the basic kit, there really isn't a need for all 
the inputs to have the choking function. But due to the number of 
cymbal pads I really needed that capability.
