Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi Everyone, I'm new here, but some of you know me!

I just got an extra cymbal pad and bell pad for my DTXPress.

I'm noticing the ride only seems to be set up for ONE sound.
However, the CRASH pad is set for TWO sounds.  I am trying to 
set the ride up so I can use the BELL pad as the cymbal BELL and the 
ride section as the ride.  I'm not having luck.  When I put the 2 
zone pad there, it works.  I have a custom cable set so the STEREO 
jack splits into TWO quarter inch.  The main right angle goes to the 
ride.  The secondary cable goes to the bell.

When I use BOTH pads, I have to use inputs 9/10.  If I use a regular 
choke cymbal, I can use it with the rim as bell and the main part as 
the ride.  That's not the feel I want though.

The bottom line is I want to make 9/10 the crash cymbal like the 
regular crash cymbal.  Then I want to be able to split the ride.

Is this POSSIBLE or am I blowing smoke????
