Here's another idea, Vern...  Use PA amps under that drawbridge, connected to 
a mic that you use to talk into before opening the door.  Or connect them to 
a stereo output of a violent movie like Diehard or Lethal Weapon.  Use a 
scene that would sound like somebody's shooting at them through a front  
window.
